When president Barrack Obama was elected, the world was hopeful that he would bring about a much needed change in US politics (in particular the handling of the war). Surprisingly, he has announced a 30,000 plus soldier troop surge in Afghanistan. Has the US not been depleted emotionally and financially already? What is it that they are trying to accomplish. Generally, people were much better off in Afghanistan than before the troops came in. This resentment towards the US military will only bring continued misery and death to all those involved. A reasonable human being concerned for the well being of all involved, would simply pull the troops out. If you want to help Afghanistan, send aid workers, education professionals and help rebuild their country that you have destroyed. Give people dignity and hope, and much can be accomplished. Send more guns, and, well you get the picture.
